Born With a Spark – Because greatness starts from within

Have you ever felt like you were made to achieve something great in your life? That you weren’t satisfied with just settling, that life had something big in store for you? The feeling that you could achieve something great, if you put your heart into something? It’s called the spark, and it burns inside of us.

Can you feel the spark burning inside of you?

I have always had a difficult time accepting mediocrity, I always believed that my life would not feel “accomplished” if I became another regular Joe Blow. Whenever I thought about becoming a police officer, I wanted to be the Chief of Police. If I wanted to become a filmmaker, I wanted to be world renowned. I just couldn’t live with the idea of just being a regular guy, working a regular job. I felt like I needed to achieve something great in my life. This burning desire to become something amazing isn’t something in us all, but it can ignite within us.

We choose the path we take in our lives, and for some people that path may be the easier route, the more comfortable path. However there are those who choose to take the path of greatness, the path of becoming something more than just another sheep in the barn. We choose to see ourselves not as a whole, but as an individual who seeks to define ourselves.

Develop a spark and let it turn into a flame, then allow that flame to turn into a fire, and eventually that fire will turn into a forest fire.

 Some people may not be born with a spark inside of them. Those individuals need to ignite their own spark, and allow that spark to grow into a flame. When that flame begins to burn, it turns into a fire. Eventually that fire will grow into a forest fire, and that is when our goals will be within reach. We need to start by creating a spark within us though, and it will only happen when we have a dream in our heart. There are individuals who feel dead inside, that they have nothing to achieve in life. You need to develop an idea inside of yourself, and fight for that goal.

The only thing that stops us from achieving happiness is ourselves, when we say that we can’t do something, or it’s too difficult. When we set limits to what we can achieve in our life, when we fear our own success, but you can’t contain a fire within a cage. A fire burns freely, and our desire to achieve greatness is the fuel that allows the flame to grow.

You need to believe in yourself, before you can achieve something great

There are times when I felt that I wasn’t good enough, that I didn’t have the skills required to be the best at what I wanted. However skill and experience is only one half of the puzzle, the other half is your determination and drive. You need to push yourself to be the best, it’s not only natural talent, but it’s your willpower to fight through adversity. When we doubt ourselves, we set limits to our success. When we say “no” we’re telling ourselves to give up. Sometimes it may seem easier to give up and move on, but giving up is a far worse feeling than failure. When we get rejected we learn, when we give up, we regret.

Greatness is built from our failures, we can’t be the best without making a few mistakes along the way. Nobody is perfect, but we can put effort into becoming something close to perfection. Discover your dream within you, and allow that dream to blossom into something bigger by putting in effort, because to giving up should never be an option.
